What is Mobile Safety Street?

Mobile Safety Street is an interactive education curriculum designed to teach school-aged children about street, home, pedestrian and passenger safety through a vehicle that travels throughout Central Massachusetts.

The vehicle exhibit consists of a custom-designed yellow school bus and safety education trailer. The interior of the bus is designed to resemble a realistic home environment, highlighting potential safety hazards such as stairs, a bathtub, windows and a stove. The exterior of the trailer opens up into a model of a street with houses, shops, a hospital, fire stations, crosswalks, traffic lights, a car backing out of a driveway, downed power lines, barking dogs and strangers

Street viewMobile Safety Street has been viewed by over 12,000 people, including all Head Start Schools and fifth grade health classes in the Worcester Public Schools.

Mobile Safety Street makes approximately 80 visits per year, including public and private schools, summer camps, community based programs, health centers, health fairs, and malls.
