Hospital Medicine

Our hospitalists, who are specialists trained in hospital medicine, work closely with your primary care physician to coordinate and provide you care when you are admitted.

A hospitalist is a medical doctor – usually one who specializes in internal medicine or family medicine – who focuses exclusively on your care while you’re in the hospital. Because our hospitalists are here around the clock, they are available to see you and answer your questions as needed.

A Team Approach

The hospitalist chooses medical tests or evaluations, interprets test results and works with your primary care physician to make essential decisions about your treatment plan. The hospitalist is also responsible for calling in other specialists for medical consults or to discuss further treatment options.

Our hospitalists and your physicians work as a team to help you through a continuum of care that includes easy admission, a comfortable and compassionate hospital stay, and as timely a discharge as possible.
