This position is for nights, every other weekend every other holiday. The applicant should have knowledge of lead placement, interpretation of EEG readings. Certification will be required within 3 years of employment. ability to work with patients and multitask is needed.
 
Position Summary:
 
Performs a minimum of three procedures in the neurodiagnostic lab. These procedures include EEG, EMG, Autonomic testing, Evoke Potentials, OR Monitoring, or assisting with BOTOX treatments. May assist in the training of other technicians.
 
Position Qualifications:
 
High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years' experience in an END Laboratory is required. ABRET or AAET certification  in at least one neurodiagnostic specialty is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in three neurodiagnostic procedures is preferred.
 
Demonstrated ability to perform electrodiagnostic procedures at standard laboratory levels. Communication skills necessary, both oral and written to interact with staff, physicians and patients.
 
Major Responsibilities:
                  
Performs standard and complex neurodiagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Adapts procedures to particular clinical circumstances.
 
Prepares the patient, explains the procedure, and ensures patients' cooperation during procedure.
 
Assists physician in preparing and positioning patients for BOTOX, including accurate documentation of procedure.
 
Participates in the evaluation of new procedures by collecting and processing data.
  
Assists in trouble‑shooting malfunctioning or inoperative equipment, carries out testing procedures, and replaces modular parts. Obtains assistance in maintenance of equipment from Biomedical Engineering.
 
Provides on‑call coverage as required.
 
Schedules patients and performs other related clerical and technical duties in the lab when
necessary.
 
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
 
Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
 
Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
 
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
 
Respects diverse views and approaches, and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
 
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
