WORCESTER, Mass. – The Public Health Council of the Department of Health and Human Services.has approved the Determination of Need (DoN) applications that proposed the merger of UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital with UMass Memorial - Clinton Hospital, and the Hospital Improvement Plan/Emergency Department Expansion at HealthAlliance.

WORCESTER, Mass. – UMass Memorial Health Care announced today that it has elevated Lisa Colombo, DNP, MHA, RN, from interim president to president of UMass Memorial – Clinton Hospital.

Neurological assessments completed for 100 percent of stroke patients.

Sheila Daly, RN, MS, CPHQ, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital, and Atty. William McGrail, chairman of Clinton Hospital’s Board of Trustees, recently announced the appointment of three new members to Clinton Hospital’s Board of Trustees. These appointments come as board members Jennie Gray, Steve Mendoza and Paulette Seymour-Route, stepped down from the board after fulfilling their terms. Board Member David Fairchild, MD, resigned from the board after accepting new position outside of UMass Memorial Health Care this past winter.

Congratulations are extended to Clinton Hospital’s Rehabilitation Department for being awarded the 2015 Clinical Site of Excellence Award from the School of Physical Therapy at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS). This award is given annually to the affiliated clinical site that best demonstrates excellence in quality of learning for MCPHS's physical therapy students. Clinton Hospital's Rehabilitation Department hosted more than 25 students over the course of the year.

Clinton Hospital recently learned that it is one of only three hospitals in Massachusetts to receive a five-star HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) rating for inpatient satisfaction. Only 251 hospitals surveyed nationwide were named to this elite group.

Clinton Hospital Becomes First Hospital in Massachusetts to Earn ISO Certification

CLINTON, MA - After 17 and 19 years of service respectively, Clinton Hospital says goodbye to two beloved primary care physicians, Rajesh Dharampuriya, MD, and Kavita Navani, MD. All friends and patients, past and present, are invited to a public reception held in their honor Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Clinton Medical Associate office located on the second floor of Clinton Hospital, 201 Highland Street, Clinton, from 5 to 7 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

CLINTON, MA - Sheila Daly, RN, MS, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital, graciously accepted a $10,000 donation to Clinton Hospital’s Campaign for Emergency Care from Darmann Abrasive Products, Inc.

“We are delighted that the employees at Darmann Abrasive Products are choosing to support Clinton Hospital,” said Ms. Daly. “The decision to make such a generous donation says so much about their understanding and appreciation of the importance of local access to health care. We’re thrilled.”

CLINTON, MA - While 2014 may be wrapping to a close, Clinton Hospital’s annual giving campaign is just getting underway. This year’s focus for the appeal will be on the hospital’s Campaign for Emergency Care. Dozens of employees, local businesses, community groups, foundations and individuals have helped to raise more than $1.2 million for the Emergency Department to date, and now, the hospital is reaching out to its community through the annual appeal in the hopes of securing additional campaign funding and reaching its goal.

CLINTON, MA - Clinton Hospital, a member of UMass Memorial Health Care, gratefully announces the receipt of a grant from the Community Health Network of North Central Massachusetts (CHNA 9) to conduct a workshop in Spanish to assist Hispanic patients in managing chronic diseases.

CLINTON, MA - Looking for an orthopedic physician? You’re in luck! Clinton Hospital recently welcomed two orthopedic specialists to its medical staff. Brian Burroughs, MD, PhD, and Erin Froio, NP-C, are now accepting patients Tuesday mornings in the Ambulatory Care Center, located on the first floor of the hospital at 201 Highland Street in Clinton. CLINTON, MA - On Wednesday, October 22, Clinton Hospital, in collaboration with the Parent/Professional Advocacy League (PPAL), will offer a free program geared toward parents and family members who are caring for a child with emotional, behavioral and/or mental health needs.

This program, Mobile Crisis Intervention: Supporting Families in Crisis, teaches participants how to connect with meaningful and helpful resources; take care of yourself so you can take care of others; and support one another during a crisis at home, school or in the community.

CLINTON – Clinton Hospital today announced that is has achieved national accreditation from DNV Healthcare, the only hospital accreditation program approved by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that integrates the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. DNV’s NIAHO® accreditation program requires hospitals to evaluate the continuum of patient care throughout its facilities and take measured steps to improve when it is warranted.

CLINTON – Sheila Daly, RN, MSN, CPHQ, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital, announced that Douglas Brown, senior vice president for member hospitals and chief legal officer for the UMass Memorial Health Care system, and David Fairchild, MD, MPH, senior vice president of clinical integration for the UMass Memorial Health Care system, and professor of medicine for UMass Medical School, were appointed to Clinton Hospital’s Board of Trustees.

CLINTON – Sheila Daly, RN, MS, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital had the honor of cutting the ribbon on the hospital’s beautiful new Emergency Department, marking the completion of the yearlong project. Just before the ceremonial scissors were used, Ms. Daly was surprised by an announcement from Bill McGrail, Esq., chairman, Clinton Hospital’s Board of Trustees, who named the newest building on the hospital’s campus in her honor, The Daly Building.
