Jun 6, 2013 - Leominster, MA – The hospice program at HealthAlliance Home Health and Hospice recently received a deficiency-free survey by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health periodically reviews home health care agencies and hospices to insure compliance of State and Federal regulations and the quality of care provided by the organization. The surveyors arrive unannounced to the agency and conduct an immediate, thorough review of clinical documentation, administrative and clinical procedures, employee files, quality data and collection and contracts. In addition, the hospice patients and staff are interviewed. The surveyors then conducted visits with hospice patients and the clinicians.
The organization was found to be in full compliance, meeting all expected regulations for quality hospice care. Christine Dixon, RN, BSN, MMHC, Executive Director of HealthAlliance Home Health and Hospice, is proud of their exceptional results and stated, “We consider it a privilege to be with patients and family at the end of life. Our results were very positive, which is very rewarding to all of us. The survey really is a team effort coming together to show the surveyors all we do to care for our hospice patients and families throughout the year. I am so proud and appreciative of all of the staff who contributed to this success.”
