These specialty services complement the outstanding primary care services that UMass Memorial provides at its hospitals and through its community-based primary care network.

In addition, UMass Memorial Medical Center serves as the region’s comprehensive provider of emergency services. The University Campus is home to the region’s only Level One Trauma Center for both adults and children and to Life Flight, the region’s air ambulance.

The Children’s Medical Center offers specialists in every pediatric health field from cardiology to surgery and includes the region’s only Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit on the Memorial Campus, and a pediatric intensive care unit on the University Campus.

Patients requiring day surgical services and specialty care in the areas of dermatology, ophthalmology, cosmetic surgery, sports medicine and hand and upper extremity surgery, are treated on the Hahnemann Campus.
