This 10-week group for caregivers of children ages two through 12 runs Mondays from 10 to 11:30 am, beginning September 12. Childcare is not provided. The curriculum focuses on positive parenting strategies and creating/building positive family relationships. Topics discussed include play, praise, rewards and incentives, social and emotional coaching, ignoring, natural and logical consequences, and time outs. Parent training is an evidence-based treatment shown to improve behavioral disturbances associated with ODD, ADHD and conduct disorder, as well as prevention of behavioral disturbances in high risk children. Parent training has also been shown to improve parent mental health outcomes. A co-pay may apply.
