Limb Preservation Center

UMass Memorial Medical Center offers the only Limb Preservation Center in Central Massachusetts. Our team of vascular surgeons, podiatrists and other specialists provide care for patients at high risk for foot and leg amputation, particularly those with diabetes.

Patients throughout the UMass Memorial Health Care system have access to our Limb Preservation Center in Worcester.

Complex Wound Care in Central Massachusetts

Treatment for patients with foot ulceration, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and those at risk for developing these and related conditions is available. All patients are evaluated by a vascular surgeon with expertise in the healing of complex wounds. An on-site non-invasive vascular laboratory is available to evaluate both arterial and venous circulation.

Because foot ulcers are the most common pathway leading to amputation, the team works collaboratively to heal these ulcers, prevent recurrence, and return patients to a state of independent walking.

Treatment Options Focus on Your Needs

We offer the most advanced treatment therapies including open surgery, endovascular intervention, and stem cell therapy to restore blood flow and promote wound healing.
