National Yellow Fever Vaccine Shortage
- Due to a national shortage of the YF-Vax yellow fever vaccine, UMass Memorial Health Care has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as one of the sites to administer Stamaril, an alternative formulation of the yellow fever vaccine. This vaccine will be accessible until the YF-Vax supply is replenished (expected in mid 2018).
- Stamaril will be available only for patients who sign an informed consent form (provided at your travel clinic visit), are traveling within 30 days of their vaccination, and are willing to go the University Campus at Lake Avenue North to receive the injection
- For Adults: If there is no contraindication for you to receive the vaccine, your travel medicine provider at the UMass Memorial Campus Travel Clinic will prescribe it for you. Following the visit, our staff will arrange for an appointment at the Benedict Building at the University Campus where you will receive the vaccine.
