Guns 2 Gardens

This year's event, sponsored by the UMass Memorial Health Injury Prevention Center, will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

• There are more than 45,000 fire-arm-related deaths in the United States each year. That’s about 124 people dying from firearm-related injury each day.
• Firearm-related injuries are among the 5 leading causes of death for people ages 1-44 in the United States.

A message from the Worcester Department of Public Health Medical Director, Dr. Michael Hirsh:

An unsecured weapon in the home is a public health danger that leads to more frequent homicides, burglaries, lethal domestic violence, accidental shootings and suicide in the home.

Please honor the memories of all our citizens, young and old, harmed by gun violence by bringing in your unwanted/unsecured weapon(s) (unloaded please) in a plain plastic or paper bag.
