Rheumatology Research and Clinical Trials at UMass Memorial Medical Center

If you are receiving care at the Medical Center, you have easy access to clinical trials through our partnership with UMass Chan Medical School. The Rheumatology Clinical Research Unit (RCRU) has extensive experience in conducting clinical research trials on all forms of arthritis.

Participants in clinical trials are offered the latest advances in treatment for arthritis and other related diseases. These studies can help improve arthritis management and treatment.

The RCRU specializes in clinical trials treatment options for:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Spondyloarthropathies (such as ankylosing spondylitis)
  • Gout

Training Programs at UMass Memorial Medical Center

As an academic medical center, UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester works closely with residents, fellows and medical students who are training to be academic and clinical rheumatologists at the UMass Chan Medical School.

We are training our students to be leaders in their field and provide rheumatology trainees a broad foundation in clinical rheumatology and the appropriate skills required for a career in academic rheumatology or clinical practice.
