Outpatient Virtual Visits

You and your provider will decide if a telehealth virtual visit is appropriate to meet your health needs. Call your provider or 855-UMASS-MD (855-862-7763) to discuss your options. Zoom is our preferred vendor for ambulatory care telehealth visits. While not required, we recommend signing up for myChart to access a visit. This will ensure your health information is conveniently stored in your patient portal.

When signing up for myChart, you’ll be connected to our secure, third-party identification tool. If you need assistance, you can:

• Ask your provider's office to send you a myChart activation email.
• Call 855-UMASS-MD (855-862-7763), Monday through Friday, 7 am to 8 pm.
• Email mychartsupport@umassmemorial.org.

Protecting your privacy

To protect our patients’ security during Zoom telehealth visits, our team:

• Optimizes our Zoom account settings for security inpatient/provider meetings.
• Ensures HIPAA-encryption with a licensed Zoom account, which offers increased security in comparison to commonly used free Zoom accounts.
• Turns off meeting recordings as the default in all telehealth zoom calls.
