A Statement from President and CEO, Eric Dickson, MD, Regarding UMass Memorial’s Upgraded Bond Ratings
WORCESTER, Mass. – We are excited that two separate bond rating agencies have improved our standing and returned UMass Memorial Health Care to investment grade status - after two-years in a lower rated category. The news this week from Moody’s Investor Services and Fitch Ratings clearly demonstrate our turnaround as an organization. These higher ratings, among other things, give us the flexibility to make more strategic decisions and to make improvements to our facilities, technology and services to advance the cause of patient-centered care. None of this would be possible without the help and support of our caregivers. Their embracing of our idea system and fostering a culture of inclusion where everyone is empowered to make a difference everyday helped the system to work more collaboratively and efficiently. My hat is off to our employees. This is their accomplishment.
