Managing asthma can be challenging. At UMass Memorial Medical Center, our doctors not only evaluate and manage your asthma, but also work with you to control its symptoms. Our asthma specialists, who are pulmonologists, work with you in an outpatient setting to improve your understanding of the disease through education and behavior modification.

Asthma Comanagement Program

Learn from the experts! If you’re interested in learning more about asthma and how to manage the disease, register for our Asthma Comanagement Program.

You’ll hear from a behavioral psychologist, certified asthma educator nurses and pulmonary physicians who will teach you everything you need to know about the disease. Sample asthma topics include:

  • Worldwide and local view of asthma
  • Early warning signs of asthma
  • Asthma triggers: allergies, stress and exercise
  • Asthma medications: purpose, use and adherence
  • Routine, new and experimental treatments for asthma

This program is scheduled several times throughout the year and runs for five weeks. Friends and family members are welcome. Preregistration is required. Call 508-856-1975 for information.
